What each tech gets
Every seat includes everything in Standard:
- Every practice question for Core, Type I, Type II and Type III

That's 205 original practice questions: 64 Core, 42 Type I, 57 Type II and 42 Type III. Each one has a short explanation and a link to the regulation or EPA page it comes from, so techs learn the rule and not just the letter. The practice app works offline once it's opened, which helps in a shop or a classroom with weak signal.
What it doesn't do (yet)
- There's no instructor dashboard. Each tech's progress is saved on their own phone or computer, not on a server, so you can't see their scores from your account.
- It doesn't certify anyone. Your techs still take the real test with an EPA-approved certifying program (EPA's list of certifying programs). We're a study tool, not one of those programs.
- Our questions aren't the real exam questions. EPA gives its question bank only to approved certifying programs (40 CFR 82.161(c)).
How the real test works
Every test includes 25 Core questions plus 25 for each type the tech is going for, and each section needs 70% to pass, which is 18 of 25 (40 CFR 82 Subpart F, Appendix D). Type II, Type III and Universal tests are closed-book and proctored (Appendix D (a)). A Type I test given by mail needs 84% and can't count toward Universal (Appendix D (a) and (e)).
